Antonio Gamaza.
Born in 1959 in Santander Spain, Antonio Gamaza is a jazz pianist and composer from a family stretching back 5 generations of musicians. He was the understudy of Micheal Sardaby in Paris and was also able to study a master’s class with the likes of Chick Corea and Kenny Warner. His first album dropped in 1997 tiled Jijuju Jazz a fusion of ethnic sounds from the Cantabria area and if featured the likes of Home Das Bubas, Pirpakuke and Jazz Infinito. After many years of study he began teaching at Taller de Music of Barcelona in Spain. He was nominated a music, art and science Academy Award for best arranger. Currently his teaching at the University of Cantabria as he does some shows in Europe and Japan. He has had performances with Cedar Walton and Jazz festivals with Dave Shoe Nitta and Jackie MacLean all set to appear. Modern Jazz and Spanish music, flamenco, Celtic, copra etc. are fussed into his style; his creativity is graceful and so fresh to the music scene.
